I think the two that most stand out in my mind were

The picnic:
Make sandwich "lunch for two" take some Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider and disposable champagne or wine glasses, pick some flowers - out of your yard or take a drive out of town and find some wild flowers and make a bouquet, take some music: boom box or headphones for two and an mp3 player, blanket. Pick up your date at work for lunch, drive to the park, spread the blanket and have a romantic lunch for two! Cost is probably under $7.00 the memory will last forever!

The dinner out:

Drape off with a curtain the area around your dining table. Use push pins in the ceiling and use a sheer light fabric. Set the table complete with long stem candles, and get those fresh picked flowers YOU pick yourself. Cook a nice dinner - recipe's online if you're challenged! Get wine or Martinelli's and nice glasses, chill in a bucket. If you don't have a bucket, line a plastic pail with tin foil, and then line and add ice and chill wine or Martinelli's. Light candles when they pull in the driveway. Seat them at the table, pour wine - have bread on the table...Chat, and serve dinner you prepared to your date. The effect is a romantic evening at a restaurant - the cost is whatever you spent to prepare it and your time. Trust me, the time and effort speak volumes!
